Know Your Role
Responsibility is a BIG word to me.
When Christ became my savior, He also become my Lord… BOSS. Whoa!! And I never want to disappoint God — no, not because He’s mean but because He’s awesome and He always helps me accomplish every task connected with His will.
Part of my job description, since He called me, is found here:
Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. 3 Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. 4 And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor. 5 In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:2-5
I have an assignment — a holy occupation:
• to lead by serving.
• to put others first.
• to be an example.
• to make disciples.
And, those who I lead, should also serve…
• with humility
• with faithfulness
• with diligence.
• and, with joy
I have a job to DO and a life to LIVE. Only God can make me all that I need to be.
So, I trust Him. And, I’ll work hard.
Where are you at with this?
